FAQ
Compliance with State Mandates
Please be aware that RCC strictly follows mandates from the State of CA Department of Public Health and the CA Department of Social Services (DSS/preschool licensing). These mandates may change frequently based on information provided by the CDC. While we strive to inform parents of mandates upfront, please note that these mandates may be amended throughout the year for the safety of our preschoolers and staff.
As a preschool, we are required to adhere to DSS directives to prevent RCC from being closed or fined. Your understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated to ensure the health and safety of everyone involved.
Parking and Vehicle Safety Policy
For the safety of all, please adhere to the following vehicle guidelines:
Parking
-
All vehicles must be parked only in designated areas (curbside or RCC parking lot).
-
Motors must be turned off while parked.
Child Safety
-
Children must never be left unattended in the car.
-
Your cooperation with these safety measures ensures our preschoolers and staff a secure environment.
Keeping Every Child Safe
At Rainbow, we pride ourselves on providing children with a school environment that is welcoming, nurturing, and safe. Access to our school I restricted to authorized individuals only. All doors leading to the street are always locked. The playground fence is covered so the children cannot be seen.
Potty Training Policy
Little Tots Program
- Preschoolers aged 2 1/2 by June 1 who are not yet potty trained can join the Little Tots Program.
Children in our Little Tots program do not have to be potty trained. Our children have often learned potty training quickly because they are learning as a group where they mirror the actions of others. Children are taken to the bathroom regularly throughout the day. We work as a team with parents to make potty training a natural and positive part of the child’s day.
Potty Training Requirement
- All children aged 3 and up must be fully potty trained.
- Children who are not fully potty trained will need to delay their start date.
Tuition and Placement
- Parents must pay the full monthly tuition to hold their child’s placement in the assigned classroom if the start date is delayed due to potty training.
- If parents choose not to pay the monthly tuition, the opening will be given to the next child on the waitlist.
- The child who delayed their start will be placed at the top of the waitlist for the next opening.
We are a nut free school
For the safety of our preschoolers with nut allergies, nuts of any type are not allowed. Please check the ingredients of the lunches or snacks that you pack for your child. Sandwiches with peanut butter, cookies with peanut butter or nuts, trail mix, granola bars, snack packs that contain nuts are not permitted at our facility. Please notify the office immediately if your child develops a new allergy that was not listed on the enrollment.
Prepared to Protect
Teachers receive regular training in safety procedures needed in case of emergencies such as earthquakes and fire. Every classroom is supplied for emergency and evacuation situations. We follow strict guidelines for student-to-teacher ratios to provide direct supervision of our students at all times.
